GrainsAt T-T Ranch we raise a variety of small grains and row crops. Staple crops in our crop rotation include wheat, both hard red spring wheat and durum wheat, malting barley, soybeans and corn. In addition to these, we include a rotation of other small grains and row crops on our farm. Over the years some of the crops grown include flax, canola, edible dry beans, and sunflowers.
In 2018, we transitioned some acres to organic production. We grow organic corn, organic navy beans, organic pinto beans and organic malt barley. As part of the organic side of our operation, we have also started using more cover crops. If you have any interest in learning more about our organic operation, please contact us. |
Beef CattleOur beef cattle program is comprised of two main parts: a cow-calf operation and a heifer breeding program. Each year we calve out more than 650 cows. Calving season starts in early February and ends in mid-April. Many long hours are put in during this time to ensure our cows and calves are well cared for. Winters in North Dakota can be brutal with subzero temperatures and blowing snow; regardless of the weather, we ensure our herd is fed, watered and has access to adequate shelter. In the summer, cows and calves are turned out to pasture where the calves grow and the cows are bred for the next year.
We started the heifer breeding program in 2012. As part of this program, we breed heifers to black and red Angus bulls and sell the bred heifers to farmers in North Dakota and beyond. |
FlaxWe sell flax to dairies of all sizes from North Dakota to Texas and in to California. Flax can be delivered via semi-truck or railcar.
In 2021, we will also have food-grade flaxseed available for sale. Please contact us for more information, including pricing, delivery options, etc. |
Our Team
It takes a lot of hard work to keep everything working smoothly at T-T Ranch. We are very thankful for our team who helps to make this all possible. We all spend a lot of time together throughout the year, so we consider our employees to be like family. Throughout the year we spend time with all of our families at our annual Christmas party, as well as during gatherings throughout the year. We are always on the lookout for individuals who are passionate about agriculture and understand the production agriculture or livestock side of the industry. If you are interested in joining our team, reach out to us at any time.
